Want
to see the Scorpion chase Orion across the sky?
Have
you heard
my version of the myth of how Orion came to be in the sky. Do you want to see the Scorpion chase Orion across
the real sky?
April and May are the best months to look in the evening sky
sky to see this story come to life. You can really see the stars
that the ancient Greeks called Orion the Hunter retreating (or
setting in the West) as the stars of the Scorpion (or more correctly
Scorpius) rise in the East.
Charts of Orion and Scorpius have been provided in two forms
(as below) for 9 p.m. on April 10th. The charts can be used after
April 10th. Simply look four minutes earlier each night after
the 10th.
