South East Queensland Horizon Star Charts

The below charts have been provided as a quick start guide to finding out what easily recognisable constellations are visible in the sky for each month. Each covers one half of the sky and therefore suffers from an enormous amount of distortion.

The charts have been prepared for an observer based in Brisbane, Queensland. They will be suitable for an observer on the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast also.

A highly recommended staring point for undistorted constellation charts is the constellation section of the International Astronomical Union's website.
