2009 Moon Phases

2009 Moon Phase Card (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Click here to download a reference card (13 kb Adobe Acrobat file) which lists Moon phases for the 2009 calendar year.

The chart is slightly smaller than a business card so that you can laminate it and keep it in your wallet or purse. The small size was deliberate to allow keen fisherman to keep the card close by so you can plan your next fishing trip.

2009 Moon Phases (Universal Time / Australian Eastern Standard Time)

I have provided the Moon Phase times in both Universal Time and in Australian Eastern Standard Time (listed in red).

If you are only a casual skywatcher based in the Eastern States of Australia, then you will only want to know when the Moon phases occur in Australian Eastern Standard Time. If this is so, only read the red writing. As you get more involved in astronomy, you will discover that astronomy events are often listed in publications by Universal Time. It is a fixed reference time that astronomers have agreed to use around the world to avoid confusion. There is a ten hour difference between the two time zones (assuming your state or territory does not use 'Summer time).
